I got involved in the Robosimian project in my first year of JPL. The project was a few months out from the DARPA robotics competition, but I got a chance to contribute and learn about what it takes to build a semi-autonomous machine. I worked on calibration of the stereo vision system that enabled the robot to visualize depth. I also worked on a battery management module to let the crew know the power usage.
